Not a lot of people know that you can use 7.63 Mauser in your Tokarev. I have bought both rounds and compared it with a caliper.
I compared S&B 7.62x25 Tokarev and Fiocchi 7.63 Mauser.
Observations:
1)In spite their names 7.62 and 7.63, the bullets' diameters are identical. The Mauser bullet tapers of faster thought (more pointy), but this is due to them being manufactured by different comapnies.
2) Mauser case is 0.127 mm longer than S&B, but 1/10 of a mm in practical terms is nothing.
3) The part of the case between body and the rim is slightly different. (you will see when i manage to attache pictures).
Apparently this is just to improve extraction. The more space there is the more reliable the extraction.
4) Fiocchi - 1425 ft/s and S&B - 1600 ft/s. Fiocchi is supposed to be correct loading for Tokarev, but Tkarev can take thousands of more powerful rounds with no problems.
