I was at a surplus amo store today and the owner told me they were no longer making the 7.62 x 25 amo anywhere ,whether surlus or not. He mentioned its a good idea to buy extra as it will soon sky rocket in price when the supply runs out.
Is this accurate? will the none military amo makers not be making any? I just bought a package of 35 rounds for $10.00, but maybe should get a lifetime supply .

Toilet paper shortage. If enough people believe there will be a shortage of something they will rush out and empty the shelves, creating the shortage.

By any chance was it Norinco ammo? Cosco, the former Importer(not Costco the big box store!) has decided to no longer ship ammunition. As there is no current shipper for Norinco ammo, we will not be getting any more. What is in country at the moment will start to dwindle, and possibly even disappear from the common market.

That might be what he was talking about. Or he's just wrong, that's possible too.

Canam has lots of new 2014 manufactured norc ammo, some on sale now great prices, and non corrosive. There is however not much corrosive old manufactured surplus around! Absolutely no shortage and still being made at reasonable prices! Buy it cheap stack it deep! oh yes free shipping with canam and great to deal with!

7.62x25 85gr. FMJ. Russian manufactured in the 1980's, copper washed, steel core. (2520rds) $449.95 I was looking at about 39 cases of the stuff today, here in Calgary.
Seems not a bad price to me.

PLEASE!!!
Can someone please post pics of the 2014 PRC boxes and headstamps, and 1980s Russian boxes and headstamps?

jonnyc, if you want to see the 1980 crates of russian ammo google "things military" the website has lots of photos .

Great, thanks! I've also never seen any Tokarev ammo packed like that before. Do you know the source of the 2014 Chinese Tokarev ammo mentioned above?

Jonny the ammo is chinese made by a huge company in china . They make everything from vehicles to defence weapons. here's the website http://www.norinco.com They make 7.62 x25 ammo you asked about , but seem to not shipping to north america anymore.

Thanks guys, but I do know it comes from China, and I'm very familiar with Norinco. I was asking where in Canada it was available, especially per box instead of case lots.
If anyone has a spare box of the 2014 Norinco, I do have a Canadian friend who can receive it for me.
