7.62x39 150gr ammo anyone reload or know where to get any?

You know I have hunted bear for years and up close well a placed shot with some quality 7.62 ammo 123 grain will do fine. Hornady makes some good ammo. Just make sure you only take broadside shoot at reasonable ranges 20 - 50 years you will be fine. Accuracy and discipline is the key and you will be fine

I haven't tried the Hornady yet but S & B works great in my SKS for hunting, and they're half the price of the Hornady.

Good to hear the S & B ammo worked out good for you thats very encouraging . I hear they were loaded a little hotter than normal stuff, I looked at the pressure comparisons online and saw a slight difference when compared to other softpoint offerings. Have you recovered any bullets from your game, just curious about expansion or did they blow right through?
the z-max are a V-Max a varmint bullet , P&D sell them for 20$ ^^
I load the 150gr to an OAL same as the Hornady 6th Edition recommends 2.20" My son's Type 56 /26\ Chinese shoots both the .311 and .308 sized bullets quite well.Hornady dies come with both sized expander buttons. With the 123gr I use 24gr of Win 748................Harold.
The fox I shot (from about 50m) with a chicken from our coop in its mouth had a lot of damage. The expansion was big and the bullet went right through it.
The doe I shot last fall had pieces of the bullet lodged into the rib with an exit wound the size of a golf ball. It was about 90m when I shot it.
I use (Czech) corrosive surplus ammo for plinking usually, and they're very hot compare to the S&B SP.
The PRVI stuff in 123 grain is exceptional ammunition too. It does in fact seem to be loaded a little hotter and the bullets seem to perform quite well. I have thrown them threw both shoulders of a white tailed deer without any issues. DRT.
OP. It I s truly too bad that you do not reload. I Mexican matched these for a friend and they fed fine in his SKS. I had some bullets and used them for the work up, they were actually measured at .310" and weighed an avg of 178gns. That's why I wrote on the box that info. Loaded the final ones with NEW Hornady 174gn. Those are the ones used to zero the his rifle and the target and crony data pictured below.

Final group shot. At 50yds, the front sight covered the small .22 targets so I held level between them. First round (low right) was a fouler from a clean barrel. Next 5 when EXACTLY like you see, but they were spaced shots.
see nice sized group.

I have used the PRVI ammo as well and they are truly an impressive round. I have shot several deer with them from my Remington 799 (I don't like losing brass) but only shoot Mexican matched soft points from my SKSs (then I don't care), but I take great care in making sure that all powder charges are equal when I do. Both my wife and I have shot a half dozen deer with an SKS and have had no problems. And last spring I shot a bear with those 174gn rounds. He was 23yds away, right through both lungs, he went 60ft.
Rookie wild cat those are some very very nice loads you've rolled up. I am jealous but I will be buying my first house this summer and with that said I will have a permanent work shop fiiiinally, a reloading station will be in the works sometime within a year or two but until then I will just envy your loads and wish I could get a couple dozen. Those 174s @ 1968fps wow just wow.

Oh yeah, I DEFINITELY lightened the powder charge. IIRC, I dropped 15% off the 123gn charge. Then worked up and stopped at 22gn when I saw signs at 23gn (which was the original load, I believe. Not near my records right now.
