They do have a nice display of SKSs and the clerk says CT has sold 202,000 Canada wide ,they are going for twice the price south of the border.Buy before they are banned too?

202,000 sounds like a lot but who knows... . They have been pumping them through the Leduc store - last time I was there they sold SKS rifles to 4 different buyers in a half hour and each buyer took multiple rifles.

Here in Woodstock I was told they can't get them in fast enough. They're selling SKS' s faster than they wipe down the cosmoline.

Word is that they're trying to get a shipment of SVT40's in too.

It is nice that Canadian Tire has gotten back into firearm sales as it allows the general public to see firearm use an acceptable sport again . The only time the average Canadian seen a firearm was on American television dramas , and the firearm was usually shown in an extreme act of violence. With shows like Duck Dyansty , and national stores like canadian Tire , firearms are once again becoming more acceptable to the mainstream Canadian public.......

The Canadian Tire store in Oakville sells ammo. Only problem is they have the same ammo they had 2 years ago and haven't replaced what has been sold. Almost no 22 ammo.

While this maybe true, Canadian Tire was the first one to dry slam shooters in the a$$ when the gun laws changed. While they are trying to coin in on popular surplus sales, they were also large contributors to the Liberal Party of Canada. You are better off spending your money in your local gun shop where people are dedicated to service and longevity of the sport, and where profit stays local as is spend in your own neighborhood.Canadian Tire is dedicated to profit alone and will stab you in the back once more when their mandate for profit changes. My how people have such short memories?

The Pricing is good and they have pallets of surplus 223 , x39 , and x54 in the Fredericton ct on smythe street.
Picked up another Russian SKS (54 Tula) on Friday Night there ... my young fella had some Easter money and gift cards burning a hole in his pocket and they were on sale for $160.00
The Sales guy also gave him a free hat, 2 lures and a Gerber pocket knife ( they were handing out some swag that day) and the guy also told me that our purchase was the 51st firearm they sold that day ... and there was another couple hours left till they closed.

The owner of this particular franchise has put some dough into renovating the place .... huge gun counter and display different wood floor, Easily the largest quantity of in stock firearms in our city .... and his set up is one where the Firearms / Crossbows/ Fishing /Hunting equipment has a unique spot as identifiable as the automotive section for all to see.

There was a young family buying their kid his first bike 2 rows over and they like everyone else in the store just went about their business .... all the guns seemed every bit as normal to them as The Summer tire display at the other end of the store. I think it's a great thing that CT is back in the firearms business

Thats the store's ordering method, if it sells it usually gets reordered. Perhaps the person in that dept doesn't care for anything gun related and won't promote it.
There is a CT store near here were the women in the dept cringes if anyone asks about ammo.

Good to hear , I will have to stop in at CT the next time I am in the Fredericton area.......sounds like some good ammo deals and an expanded firearms selection....

I hope the CT's on this side of 'er gets into that frame of thought. All ours have is a few black rifles and the usual ammo. Nothing in the red family appearing at all. :(
