7.62x39 Ammo

We currently have the PMC 7.62x39, it's 123gr. FMJ. $20.99 for a 20 round box, or $470 for a 500 round case.

As Krausb says, it is the projectile we are concerned about. Steel in the projectile = No Go, regardless of whether it's a thin steel jacket or a mild steel core.

I have a ton of Norc 762x39 and the box says LEAD CORE, did a magnet test and it sticks. Didn't realize the copper jacket is not all copper but thin steel with an even thinner copper jacket. Did a magnet test on Norc 308 and surplus CZ 8mm, both of them stick so again thin steel with a copper jacket over lead.

If a magnet sticks to the bullet (not the steel case), then there should be steel in the projectile. Unless you know someone making nickel or cobalt cored ammo.
