7.62x39 brass source

I have found that the easiest way to get x39mm brass is to buy Prvi 125gn ammo and save the brass.
Another way is simply to say the heck with brass and use milsurp. If you are using it in a semi, esp an SKS, it is gonna throw that brass all over the place and you are gonna lose it anyway. If you are choosing to use reloads to cut down on the corrosive action of milsurp ammo, then you are better off buying some of the non-corrosive Norc ammo that Can Am has up right now.
I use my brass for my Remington 799. Everything else gets milsurp and my "new" Chinese SKS I got from Marstar only gets to eat non-corrosive Norc silver-box ammo I have left. Soon have to place an order with CanAm though.

Try the good folks at hirsch precision....I bought several thousand rounds of 7.62x39 laupua brass from them and it is awesome.
Also, +1 to the privy partisan hunting stuff as a good source...it is a little expensive but seems to be readily available.

I'm actually using it in a Baikal IZH-18MH. I bought it to shoot surplus at the range and to have a lower powered hunting rifle. Mainly as a range toy though...the hunting was me justifying...I must say it's *really* cheap to shoot 
(only downside is about 10% of the shots using surplus need a double hit to go off...one took a triple)
But ya not exactly a lot of pre rolled rounds up here and one can't just ship them in(no ground service) so I need just brass. Looks like Trade Ex has it in stock so that will probably be where I get it.

When Henry gets back in September, Budget Shooter Supply is another source. I use Winchester brass in my IZH. Not promoting it, it's just what I happen to be using. Never had to double hit any.
For giggles, and only because I had the supplies on hand, I pulled the FMJ bullets and the corrosive primers. I replaced the bullets with 125 grain V-Max, and the non-corrosive berdan primers.
In spite of the sighting problems I was having the day I shot them, I was impressed with their performance.

Winchester makes 7.62x39 brass, as does PRVI.
You should be able to get some from Budget shooter supply, Mystic, or Trade Ex. If none of those guys have any, just order a couple boxes of PRVI factory ammo from TheAmmoSource for $16.99 / 20 and that should hold you over.

+1 for the MFS, I reload 7.62x39 for a Baikal as well and shoot surplus out of my sks's. I bought a couple boxs of the mfs to try when my local gunshop started bringing it in and the stuff works great.
It is not corrosive or reloadable.
I also agree with the others that say to get a box or two of Privi hunting ammo. It is very good reloadable brass.
