I gathered a small supply of older Remington cases, 7.62x39, using small rifle primers. I want to reload 125 grain Sierra bullets, and I have various powders which could work. The thing is, my only small rifle primers are Remington small rifle Benchrest primers. I have no illusions about the possibility of benchrest accuracy out of the 7.62x39.
I'd like to use what I have on hand rather than expanding my supply of stuff used on failed experiments.
If I use those primers, what powder would be the best bet to try? Since all the reloading data I've checked use large rifle primers, to what extent can the information about powder volume be substituted with the smaller primers?
