Today I shot some CanPro [.311] 71gr plated .32 ACP bullets in PPU brass with Fed large rifle primers and 3.5 grs of Bullseye .Groups were dime sized or less at 20 yards 3.5" high from center.Out of a CZ527 carbine 951fps

I tried 3 gr of Bullseye and the group was slightly larger but cleared the barrel.I brought a brass rod JIC. Should work fine for finishers on big game as well.

Buffalo, try some 32 cal, cast lead round balls, pressed into the case mouth.

I was given a couple of hundred that were powder coated and gave them a try in a 308 Win, didn't work well and a 7.62x39 Howa 1500.

Those coated round balls shot very well from the Howa.

I wanted something bulkier than Bullseye and Unique and slower.

I used 20 grains of 5744 and it shot much better than I expected. Not good enough for head shots, but good enough for breast shots out past 35 yards.

The dead soft lead, used for the balls obturated very nicely into the grooves and left nice clean round holes in the birds/bunnies.

It was good enough that I even considered buying mould. Not for long though. Good sense got the better of me.

It dawned on me that the balls were just powder coated "0" Buck Shot.

That's as cheap as it gets.

I haven't used many CamPro bullets.

I did try the Hornady 87 grain bullets for the TT33 pistol. They didn't shoot as well as the O buck

I will give Henry an order for 500 CMJRN. Great price. Thanx.

About 40 years ago I bought an Alex cartridge adapter that was a sleeve that allowed one to shoot .32ACP out of a 30-30 from SIR .I shot a lot of grouse with that one until I foolishly sold it.

I'm new to reloading..I went on Budget, & noticed this {for M1 Carbine} '.30cal M1 Carbine (.308) 110gr FMJ 100/Bag.' I notice it says (.308) so does that mean, if I had those other .30 caliber bullets you link..I could use them to reload .30 Carbine loads as well. if that's all I had? or vise-vera? Any of those bullets would load in a 762 x 51 or 39? Including the ones listed for M1 Carbine? If you had the correct recipe etc. ? Thnx

If the groove diameter of the rifle is .308 any .308 bullet can be used safely. Will they shoot accurately in your rifle? Plated pistol bullets may not like full powered rifle loads.Hard to say.On the other hand a 7.62x39 is supposed to be .310 groove but mine a CZ527 and a Chinese SKS will also shoot .308 dia bullets well. Hornady dies for the 7.62x39 come with two expander buttons so you can get adequate neck tension to hold either bullet.Any .308 grooved rifle can handle the .311 32ACP plated bullet.I also load .311 Sierra 150gr SP's in the 7.62x39 for moose..........accurate ........no problems.

There were two different types of those adapters available at one time

One held the 32acp round at the rear of the insert and IMHO works better than the other type, which holds the pistol round by it's rim, so it can be closer to the leade.

IMHO they give about the same accuracy.

The pressure generated by the diminutive 32acp, as well as the straight sidewall, makes it quite easy to make up your own chamber insert for the 30-30 on your lathe.

I have both types, the rear loaded type is for 30-06 and the front grab type is for 303Brit.

The 303 adapter got a lot of use at one time, now not so much.

As young terrorists...uh...teenagers, my buddy and I used an adapter in his Dad's No.4 sporter. We'd go to the local hardware and buy a box of .32acp and off we'd go. IIRC, it was the type you put the little cartridge in the front of the adapter. As an aside, we both turned out to be murdering bank robbers, simply because we used evil guns as kids.

I have had great success with hornandy bullets for 32 acp in 303. I used red dot. They are a fun plinking load but too expensive and I used cast only these days. Gallery loads are a neat option to get some bench time with rifles in indoor ranges

Or a white tail if he opens his mouth at the right time.......

I have a friend who is a very experienced moose hunter.
He used 7.62x39 in an SKS to take several moose. All were complete pass-throughs using a 123gr SP.
none were shot outside 100yds
all were broadside/near broadside shots taking out the heart/lungs
None ran out of site
But he still prefers his 30-30Win, or his 12ga with slugs
