7.62x39 load question

I'm entitled to my opinions, whether you think they are justified or not.

This is the result of all that, "I'm OK, you're OK" touchy feely education where nobody is wrong and everyone's opinion is worthwhile.

Well out here in the real world there are correct answers and wrong answers and yours was wrong. Your "opinion" and feelings of self worth are not a factor in the correctness of the facts.

This is where I interject right now, and tell all (no exceptions!), if you have not read a good reloading manual prior to initiating handloading, you haven't done yourself any favors, and you may be doing things in an unsafe manor. I would suggest the Hornady manual as it's easy to read, and it goes over the process in a clear concise manner. Even though I've been reloading for years (25+, in fact), I will occasionally pick up a manual, and re-read the basics; just in case I've forgotten. Other good books are: The Ultimate In Rifle Accuracy, By Glenn Newick; The Accurate varmant Rifle, by Boyd Mace; and The Accurate rifle, by Warren Page.

4895 is probably too slow a powder to provide all that good a velocity, but it would work (ie: should be safe, and make enough pressure to cycle a semi-auto).

Something more like H322 or the like would be closer to ideal. I use WC-735 with my 150 grain loads (surplus powder I get from Higginson that's not too far off of H322 for burn rate), and with as much powder as I can fit in the case, it's just about spot-on for what you can expect (2200FPS and the flimsy little thin walled brass Winchester makes is still holding up well with no pressure signs).
Thanks!
