7.62x39 rifles?

Smart bet. 9mmGG would need to buy both firearm and ammo from you. Even worst case 6k rounds off a bolt takes a long time to shoot (precision is slow, spray & pray 6k is easy). Won't happen
Yes, if you wear it out; because I know it won't happen. So shoot away.

Are you still backing up this with a new barrel if there is wear? Maybe another sticky is needed.
I have bought many guns and ammo from you and would buy a more expensive bolt action if backed
up with a guarantee -- otherwise I'll wait for the cheaper bolts -- if we ever see them again. :(

As long as someone is offering the warrantee you can be sure you won't need it.
Same goes for electronics equipment and foreign cars.

I've had to use warranty many times on every item listed so I'm very glad for good warranty from great retailers like CanAm.

Also, is there a current car in Canada that isn't foreign?
ICBC U-built is by definition manufactured by someone here and there is lots of those rolling around

And that is how you fool the foolish consumer, with warranties and guarantee that the majority when needed won't use.

After you rule out meeting the conditions like having receipt, x type only ammo, blah...blah the majority gives up.

PM (price guarantee) and Mfr rebates are the best tools to fool consumers into false sense of value. Mfr/company knows only a small percentage will utilize it effectively. Go to RFD for deals.

Depends if you consider all the Hondas, Toyota and the domestic big 3 built in the Eastern Canada Foreign?

Honda and Toyota are built here in Ontario as well but they are still Japanese. If by domestic big 3 you mean GM, Ford and Chrysler, they are American.

I believe Fiat (Italy) now owns Chrysler, and GM has had it plants moved to China, the Volt, Cadillac are made there now. I wonder how long it will take for trucks (GM & Chev) to be made in China. Not to sure what Ford is up to?

I have a Ruger and love it. Surprisingly accurate for such a small rifle. Shines with reload and Vmax bullets. I tried to remove the bullet from surplus ammo and replace it with a hunting one but that didn't work.
I'd buy another 7.62x39 no hesitation: the M77 is too nice to be painted ;-)
This thread made me look at the Mossberg patrol rifles and I wish they'd make one in x39

Ive had a cz 527 carbine for a couple of years now and when it comes to accuracy and workmanship I LOVE it!....however-the choice of scope rings for this rifle is pathetic-also the bolt handle barely clears the scope which makes it awkward to cycle quickly...I use a red dot to remedy this issue but it seems to me that the rifle was meant to be used primarily with open sights which are very well made and work well for up to 50m
never handled a ruger yet but I'm curious now since the price is quite similar and so is the action....

Have you considered a James Calhoon bolt handle to enable lower (read: more moderate) scope mounting, and a pair of Warne rings?
Here is a link to the Calhoon bolt handle for the CZ-527 http://www.jamescalhoon.com/pricelist.php

Someone on an American forum said it was cheaper to buy a replacement bolt handle from CZ USA and have their custom shop re-profile it. They'll even re-blue it. That way you have two bolt handles and can go back to stock if you want to or remove the scope. I might go this route if it really does work out cheaper.

Unless something has changed recently CZ-USA will not ship anything to Canada. Dlask is your best bet for parts in Canada as they are now the CZ parts/service centre.

The post on the American forum was more along the lines of "It's cheaper to just buy a replacement handle and have CZ modify it than to ship your factory one back and forth to a gunsmith."

Yeah, I knew CZ USA doesn't ship to Canada because I've been looking at getting a few spare magazines and some scope rings. Luckily, there's 3 dealers/service centers in western Canada and Dlask also does machine work. I'm sure they could carve up and refinish a bolt handle for a reasonable price.

can anybody tell me if the CZ magazine can be loaded while still in the rifle? or must the mag be removed to be reloaded?

thanks all

As mentioned above, the CZ 527 carbine is meant to be reloaded with the magazine removed. Another thing to note is that it's a controlled feed action so you have to cycle rounds from the magazine. You can't drop single rounds in the chamber like you can with a push feed.

Great little rifle though. I especially like the set trigger. I scoped mine up with standard cz/Burris rings and the bolt cycles fine. I don't find the scope too high for my likes but I also don't mind a chin weld.
