After reading so much about people finding out surplus ammo listed as non-corrosive really was corrosive I just don't buy surplus ammo listed as "non-corrosive".
If it's the same price as corrosive (which I've never seen; always more expensive in my experience) I would buy it and treat it as if it was corrosive.
In my Mosin I just soak and scrub all surfaces with G96 Gun Treatment (cleaner, lube, and rust preventative in one) and haven't had a spot of rust yet from corrosive ammo.
I fired my SKS for the first time with corrosive a few weeks ago and did the same (no water, just G96). So far it also has no rust or spots (haven't shot it since).
This was recommended to me by some old timers at the range and so far has worked.

Do not rely on g96 to deal with corrosive ammo. I have a vz58 muzzle brake and a sks gas tube that looked awful weeks after cleaning with G96. Water and then g96 is best
I picked up a case of romanian surplus from a guy locally , it 1967 production , corrosive I am sure , but the big surprise for me was brass cased not steel , Or at least it looks like brass and a magnet won't stick to the case , steel jacket bullet though .
