Please move to the ammunition subforum if you feel better fitting, i figured the x39 wiz's would be here.

I've been seemingly seeing less and less surplus 7.62x39 ammo around and been wanting to add some to the "deep stack" as i dont shoot it, but seems like a good idea to have, pawn shop had this can, and sold it going off what was written in sharpie, I'm here to confirm that is what i got, as googling turns up a crazy wormhole of all sorts of cans and mixed information, any help is greatly appreciated.

Yaya i get it "been discussed 100's of times" but i know I'd take more heat bumpin an old thread.

Yeah, I think surplus 762 has finally just about dried up. I don't think even Cabelas sells anything but the norinco red box anymore

Tenda has RedBox for $280/500-rnds; comes to 65c/rnd with 15% tax. Just add a few boxes of 22LR to make the $300 free ship. And BP may have it on sale for about that price occasionally, it was on Boxing day.

Question for the uninitiated, at what number is it considered deep stacking?

Answer is subjective. I've always said I like to keep about 2 years worth of shooting (or appropriate reloading supplies) for each calibre I own. For something like 30-06, that's about 50 rounds. For 303 british, maybe 500 rounds. For 22lr, perhaps 5000 rounds
