Hey guys, I'm looking at ordering a crate of surplus corrosive ammo. Trade ex has Polish ammo and Bulgarian. Anyone know if there's a any differences between these? Both seem to be from the 80's.

By differences I mean in terms of quality, or any differences at all aside from how it's packed and the country of origin of course.

This will keep my SKS's going for a while while my 858 rots in a locked case :(
 
They both go Bang. I've had no misfires with either of them. Your rifle needs to be cleaned anyways, so bang away.
 
Budget shooter supply has Czech ammo already on stripper clips, also International shooting supplies has Romanian brass cased if that interests you.
 
corrosive ammo is all that I shoot (for bulk plinking), and never an issue. Just clean your SKS's like you would clean any of your other firearms. These things aren't exactly delicate.

Good choice! Henry is a pro, the last case I ordered from him I received it in 23 hours. Now that's impressive.
 
Keep in mind that they claim the Czech stuff from Budget Shooters have steel-jacketed copper washed bullets. Cases are lacquered steel as well. In a chromed barrel it should be fine but I wouldn't put it through a steel barrel.

Meh, I shoot the laquer cases out of my 1950 non chrome barrel and it is just as mirror like as my chromed Chicom.
 
Another vote for the Czech from BudgetShooterSupply. Ran through a crate of it last year and it's more accurate than the Barnaul new manufacture. The stripper clips are a bonus, and the crate itself is surprisingly well made - used it as a lock box in my garage for odds and ends.

It's really about the boo-lits, but the extras are nice.
 
What the heck ... Me too - Another vote for BudgetShooterSupply and the Czech surplus ammo on stripper clips.
Can't beat $225/crate shipping included. And Henry is a great guy to deal with, always very responsive to my questions.

Those mild steel jackets are softer than copper according to some hardness tests I read somewhere.
In any case, I have a test rifle I made up and I'm on my 4th case of corrosive surplus and the barrel is still as shiny and pristine as the day I chambered it. Still shooting 2 MOA or under with cheap surplus.

As for accuracy check out the thread by Ganderite in the stickies.
