7.62x39 surplus ammo

Speaking of 'surp ammo-- whatever happened to the Norinco 7.62x39 ammo? We used to have heaps of it over here in NZ. Now we have the Barnaul, Tul and Hungarian surplus. I got a couple of boxes of Tul hollow points, hopefully they work allright. So far the Hornady SST's have been working great, slightly more expensive than the Tul however. I miss the Chicom surp ammo....
If you don't mind me asking, how much does a crate of surplus x39 go for in NZ?

Don't know if this link will work, but the fella's at Gun City sell 1000 rounds of Tula HP at NZ$600. I don't know if this qualifies as surplus? Exact same price for Hungarian surplus at Serious Shooters.

I am going to stock up a modest amount just in case the whole situation with Russia affects ammo supply. Still wish I could find Norinco surplus ammo....

One thing people really like about Russian 7.62x39, that I know where you can find...
is that casings are copper washed and not lacquered.
Hence less fouling to your firearm.

With situation in Russia and Ukraine, it will become rare as hens teeth, and price is only going to go up!
