yah I love Alberta... YOTIE! BANG!! knock that dog clean off the ridge and 15 meters down the other side with a .338 Lapua magnum... fur is no good but that dog won't be slinking around our cattle again...

Like 1ShotKing says, most rifles chambered in the cartridge, primarliy the SKS and Mini30, aren't accurate enough for long range shooting. At close range with the right bullet, it'll do nicely though.

I don't know about just short range. 150 yards is the advertised max effective range by hornady no?

30-30 is fine, been fine for years, why all of a sudden it's not fine anymore? You certainly don't need a 308 for a coyote.

Deer, coyotes even black bears have been brought down with 30-30 for a long long time! What something like 4 million model 94s sold? They just shoot squirrels and crows with them?
