7.62x51 brass for 308 loads?

Hi all,

I am going to take up reloading. Slowly learning, reading and watching youtube videos, and such. I am focusing on 308 & 30-06, maybe even 223.

Was wondering if I can use 7.62 x 51 brass for 308 loads? What about vice versa?

How about 556 brass with 223 loads? What about vice versa?

If you are just starting out, use 308 brass in a 308 rifle, 223 brass in a 223 rifle. Less headaches and less chances of ka-blamo.

I always shoot 223&556 in my 556 AR15, but never new the actual differences

The military 7.62 brass is heavy (less volume). If you have a 308 brass load, drop the powder charge about 2 full grains.
