Hey guys,

Anybody know who's got any 7.62x54r ammo in stock? I have a shoot coming up in a week and i'm just about out of ammo.. Nobody locally has any  Know any places where i can get some? I don't care if it's surplus ammo, i'll take it! I'm from the Niagara area, i'll order online from a good canadian dealer if they have some.

thanks

gove elwood epps a call. thats where i got my last crate of czech light ball. might even be worth the drive if they still have some crates left. also, if you dont mind paying the premium, go to al simmons in hamilton. they have sellier and bellot and maybe some prvi partizan. both new production brass cased boxer primed and around $16 per box of 20.

If you are in the Niagara region, you might have better luck with gun shops across the border. That is what I am presently doing down in my area (Eastern Ont), since all Canadian dealers seem to be completely out.

max...

"...gun shops across the border..." T'ain't legal, Stateside, for a visitor to have ammo of any kind in their possession without the proper U.S. permits. A hunting licence, from any State, will do for a start.
Bringing ammo back without the U.S. export permit can get you in a world of trouble with the U.S. Border types. Our side only says you can bring in 5,000 rounds for personal use with no fuss. That has nothing to do with U.S. law. It's our side only.

If you have an ATF Form 6 NIA you can bring back as much ammo as you are allowed to import on your Form 6. The maximum you can bring into the US is 500 rounds per caliber. So the maximum you can legally export without an export permit is 500 rounds.

Form 6's aren't hard to get, just takes some time and either an invitation to a recognised shooting competition or an Alaskan Hunting license ($20 online.) If you have an SVT-40 though, you won't be able to get one as they're banned by name from import to the US (I found out the hard way.) In my experience, the process takes anywhere from 2-6 weeks.
