anyone have (tested) loads for this cartridge and powder combo?

Will be using 150gr 168gr and 174gr boolets

any help appreciated.....its WAYYY to long a drive for another pound of powder

4198 is considered too fast burning for that and similar carts. and can be used in reduced loads or cast bullet loads with vel. to 2000fps according to Lyman. Heavier loads would build pressure very quickly, the 49th Handbook shows no loads for 4198 with j-word bullets and 2108 fps for a 200 gr. cast gc bullet with 32.5grs. of 4198 as a max. load.

Like ben said.

You could load the 150s for some light plinkin ammo.

The correct speed would be 4895 to 4350 range.

I use RL15 for most of my military calibers. Clean, accurate and meters well.

I've found 4198 to be an excellant cast bullet powder in 7.62x54R. My favorite plinking load is Lyman 314299 over 22.0 grs of either IMR or H4198.
Sized .311 for my M39 Finnish or .314 in a Polish M44. Both will stay close to
1" at 50 yds.
