7.62x54r case split, safe to shoot?

Just picked up a new crate of surplus rounds, Chinese, 15 in and
Should this be a reason to stop shooting these rounds or should it be fine? All my rifles pass the no-go headspace gauge.

You can"t even reuse them or reload them. So what"s the plan.

That's common with chinese ammo, I wouldn't worry about it to much.

I was more worried about if this might damage my rifle or injure myself, the consensus I get says that it’s okay as long as it’s not rupturing down near the rim.

I had similar splits with Chinese 7.62X51 steel case ammo.

I had some S&B surplus do that on my svt40
Still kept using the ammo I don’t think it will hurt anything

my chinese 54r also splits like this, i think its just a bit hot. how is the accuracy?

Also happens with some Bulgarian, Yugo, and Albanian 7.62x54R. Nothing to worry about.

Factory 71/ 67 year of production I believe it was.

The non lacquered ones with the tiny primers. I’ve had a half dozen duds, two misfires and one bullet shot super low velocity, I found it 25 yards down range with no rifling grooves into it, the jacket was burned up, it looked like it was too small or something?

I still shoot it, but I’ll never let the clerk pick my crate again.

Poor quality steel or something. I find split cases all the time when I shoot Chinese.

The M1 Garand also splits Chinese.

The Chinese surplus is known to be brittle. Small splits like that are not uncommon.
