like the title says???? a friend of mine has one and we would like info on it he says it seems to have Turkish marks on it. its the first I ever heard of I would like some input on this piece if anyone has something to add.

Some Turkish Peabody-Henry rifles were converted to 7.65 Mauser for WW1 use, but I never heard of any in 7.62x54R.

Hunting rifle made in Georgia or somewhere in Caucasus border regions?

I wouldn't be surprised.Turkish captured rifle-no ammo.Russian ammo-no rifle.Folks can be very resourceful.

One of older Gun Digests have an article on hunting in Mongolia
and author mentions one of the guides having a shotgun fitted with old
Russian made machine gun barrel or something along those lines.

if its turk it should be marked as made by peabody -henry of the usa .......
they were converted to 7.65 ammo pre ww1.

could be redone to 7.62 russian but BE SURE ..........

IS IT IN SHOOTING CONDITION ??
hows the bore ?

Some MH's were in .303 brit, could it have been rechambered from that? Best way to find out what it used to be is get the makers name and the MK number off the RH side of the receiver, photos of any other marks/stamps will help too.
