7.62X54R Pill Size?

The bore snake is my pre-emptive strike on corrosion right after firing. It's handier than a rod and you're finished in seconds and it fits in the ammo box. Then do the rest of the work at home or your campsite. HPL, do I understand from your post that you don't break the rifle right down to the parts? And if so ,how long do you leave between full strip and wash?

I just clean the bore, wipe the inside of the magazine, the inside of the receiver and the bolt face. Maybe take the bolt face off and squirt it with brake cleaner and then oil if it's dirty. There's not much to clean on a Mosin.
