I would like to start reloading ammunition for my mosin nagant with the lee loader. I have MFS brand brass made in Russia. Does anyone know what priming cap to use?

I wasn't aware of MFS making any brass cases?

I believe their line is steel cases with Berdan primers and they are practically non reloadable. If yours are brass cases and Boxer primed I believe they should take standard Large Rifle Primers like from Winchester, Federal, CCI, Remington etc.

I purchased some Prvi Partisan and Sellier and Bellot ammo with brass cases and have been reloading those with Large Rifle Boxer primers.

If it is a brass case (scratch test should show under lying metal to be yellow) simply look inside with a bright light. If you see two small holes in case head it is a berdan primer. If you see one it is a boxer primer. One hole is what you want to see, and a standard large rifle primer should fit. Two holes and these cases are not going to be reloaded with your lee loader.

One hole is most likely boxer primed. I have seen lots of 8x57 military with Berdan primers. It had one hole that was off the centre of the base.

Got it from Allan Lever and still have some of that stuff!
