7.62x54r bullets, .311(.312) or .308? The Lee manual says that all the loads were developed with .308 bullets. Has anyone compared the two for accuracy? I believe the factory diameter of a Mosin bore to be .310 but I don't want to spend $30.00 on a box of 30cal when I could have spent the money on some .311's or Hornady .312's
Another thing I was wondering was the quality of PRVI brass. I have 20 pieces of 7.62x54r hunting ammo that I paid $29.99 for and I'd like to reload them. I know the Mosin is a ####-on-open bolt so it shouldn't have as much of a headspace issue as an Enfield, but I'm curious how hot I should work my loads up to. The brass comes pre-annealed, which I personally think is awesome, so I'm hoping to get more than 6 reloads out of the stuff. Does anyone know if Mosin 1944 carbines are easy or hard on brass?
