I bought a crate of surplus 7.62x54R (the same stuff SFRC is selling, Russian 147gr corrosive) and upon first firing some I noticed they are hitting the target page below the one I was aiming at. They are dropping 11" at 50yds from PoA. I checked and the sight was at 100m like I normally keep it and tried some of my handloads and they all shot PoA like normal. I started to ramp up the sight and had to set it to 450m for the bullets to hit PoA at 50yds. The recoil feels like it should and the groups are about 2" which is normal for me at 50yds. I thought maybe it was really low velocity from compromised powder but in order to get that much drop when shooting cast bullets I normally have to go down to around 700fps or lower which doesn't seem possible. I didn't have my chrony that day to check the velocity but I can't see it being too low with normal recoil levels.
I've tried ammo from both cans and I bought 20rnds from another can they had open in the store to test that as well. I have shot MFS, S&B, Prvi, and my handloads in this rifle without issue previously.
Any ideas?
