I read that surplus 7.62x25 is too powerful for a C96, but I also read that newly made commercial 7.62x25 could be shot in the C96. Or could you pull the bullet and reduce the powder charge by half so it could be fired from a C96?
You can use the bullet, but you have no idea what that powder is, so you won't know if half of whatever it is safe. Below minimum loads can be as dangerous as over max loads.
Whoever said commercial 7.62 Tokarev is safe for a C96 is confused.
I've no experience with the C96 but naturally as most people with a general knowledge of the firearm have heard it's ill advised to use 7.62x25 in the C96. What I do know is the commercial 7.62x25 from sellier&bellot is damn near as hot as surplus or the Norc ammo. Personally if I were lucky enough to own one of these beauts I'd not be shooting anything more than would reliably cycle the action in such a classic pistol.
