7.7 Jap brass length question

Happy New Year!

My question is this: I bought 50 pcs of 7.7 Jap brass for loading. I sized the brass using my 303 B sizing rod etc because I don't have one for 7.7 Jap. Looking at the Lee Reloading Die set guide for 7.7 Jap it states the the "Maximum" trim length is 57,53mm. Because I sued the 303 B trimming tool they are all measuring in at 57,40 to 57,50mm. In other words I just made sure that they were all less than the maximum as stated. Is that alright? In other words, can the brass length be less than the maximum, by a tad, as long as its not longer?

As well, as long as I get the maximum total overall length with bullet at approx. or less than what is indicated 79,24mm I should be ok right? Ammo should fit well in chamber correct?

I guess my question can be simplified to can I trim my cases as low as 2.22 inches instead of the maximum 2.270 as indicated in loading data. The 2.22 arises from using the 303 B trimming rod which I used in the Lee trimming kit.

It shouldn't hurt anything as it is head spaced of the shoulder. My fire formed brass is between 2.245 and 2.255 They were longer but because I used 30-06 range brass to make mine 7.7 jap brass, The brass shrunk when fired formed. I just won't have to trim them for a while. Just remember that it uses energy to form the case so you may loose fps if it is not cut to the proper lenight. The best thing to do is trim them to 2.260 as all of my books say. I have loaded this round for a while so send me a pm if you have any questions and I can help.
