hi all,

I'm thinking about purchasing a little something that requires 7.92k (7.92 x 33) cartridges.... and I'm wondering:
1) what my options are to obtain or make brass
2) load recommendations (powder weight, projectile weight, primer type)

thanks for your input!

Graf & Sons in the US has Kurz brass on a regular basis. I think it is made for them by Prvi Partisan. I believe one or both of MSG.Drew or Mysticplayer (dealers who frequent these boards) can get it for you.

About the same time Lee did a limited run of reloading dies. I think most of those ended up at Marstar, they might still have them. Bottom line, the best time in years to try to get into reloading Kurz was in the very recent past, and there are still options around.

Marstar lists Graf brass. Currently sold out. $49.95 per 100. Privi's site is down, but several sites list their brass. Whether it can be had in Canada is another question.
Buffalo Arms lists brass too. $41US per 100. U.S export permit required though.
RCBS makes the dies, but they're '$pecial order' dies. Contact this guy to see if you can get 'em. Well, how long and how much. Won't be cheap. He's the Eastern Canada RCBS distributor.

Personally I'm going to .308 cases and resize them to 7.92 kurz.

I'm going to save up and purchase a bullet swaging setup from corbins and make my own copper jacketed 125 grain projectiles. I'll do my best to match them to the original configuration, or at least the drawing I have.

"....308 cases and resize them to 7.92 kurz..." That'll take some doing. 716 thou off the length and 3 thou from the case head diameter. Not impossible with the right tools.

I know this much. case head diameter 11.95mm. Case lenth 32.95mm

.308 fits the bill on head diameter... And it's not hard to cut something down. Though in all fairness I have read that .308 is one of the more difficult cases to form but I've heard it lasts a long time.
