7 Br

Do a search for pistol silhouette shooting from the 80's and 90's. Still used to day and is a very accurate rd.

All of the cals based off the BR case have been excellent shooters.

I guess 'good' is dependent on what you want to use it for.

Still has a following in rifle Silhouette. A full length 26" barrel with a fast twist to stabilize heavy, high bc target bullets will reliably knock down 50lb steel rams at 500m's. Arched tragectory, but who cares if you know the distance. Very light recoil. Low powder consumption and potentially very accurate.

I think the main issue with it in Silhouette is that it doesn't feed well from some magazines and is not "legal" for hunting rifle class.

The 7mm BR is legal for hunter class silhouette as are all wildcats that are not deemed magnums. If you are using the 7 BR for silhouette you do not have to load the entire magazine to full capacity. You can load one at a time as long as the case is fed from the magazine. There is a restriction on a single shot follower for hunter.

What do you want to use the 7mm BR for?

Hard to keep up with the rules these days. It use to be for hunter class; "magazine filled to capacity", and the cartridge was at one time supposed to be chambered in a commercially produced rifle. (maybe the 7br was???)

I know things have changed, I really like the idea of the 7BR but will have to burn out my 260 first.

I have a XP100 pistol in the cartridge. Love it! Wish I could hunt with it.

I had one barrelled up on a Rem 788 15 years ago, used it to shoot silhouette. Was one of the few rifles that I have owned that shot all bullet weights to the same point of impact at 100 meters.Still kicking myself for selling it,never lost a Ram with it either. If you hit them they went down.

I didn't think the 7BR had enough capacity to make the NBRSA rules.

Case capacity of not less than 45.5 grains of water (.30-.30 capacity) is required.
