l'm heading up to St. Joes lsland in 2 weeks for a Deer hunt, and have been offered a 7mm to use, the rifle is scoped with a 3x9-40. My question is, is this rifle ok for Deer and what grain bullet should l use. We will be hunting from tree stands. Any help or suggestions. Although l didn't get a moose on our hunt, or see any bears, WMU 50, one of the guys did get a bull moose. lt was still a great hunt, and a great time had by all.
:?:

Thanks

140 grain bullet is fine for deer and works well in most 7mm's. I recommend a controlled expansion bullet... Remington Core Loct work just fine on deer.

What Bigredd said.The 160 grn.works well also.I use the 160 grn.Nos.Part.for Deer,
Moose and Elk because you can run into any of them where I hunt. Also the odd big
bear.

of course it's fine, and any ammo you can find in a store will kill a deer

some might do more damage to the meat than others, but shot placement is the key always.....

if it were me, I'd buy a box of WInchester Supreme 160 gr. CT Accubonds
