Just to let you know that there is hope, I also have a 7'' RRA that has seen about 3000 rounds with no malfunctions.

Don't loose faith in the shorty AR's! My 7.5" Bushmaster has also been flawless.

I do agree though that of the AR's I own I would agree that the shorty gets the dirtiest with the same amount of use.

I have started to reload for it last year and so far so good. I do load max loads though to avoid any potential gas issues.
