I have very limited experience with the 7x64. I have been using full power 280 Rem data using imr 4350 and since there was no pressure indications I worked up with poor results.
I then tried IMR 7828 SSC data off of Realguns and things went better. Picture of the test group was done Prone Position with front resest at approx. 120 yards. 175gr Velocity averaged 2717fps. Not the greatest group but a good starting point. Pretty much 30-06 performance with a 180gr bullet......but I get better BC and SD.
My Rifle is a Zastava m70 w/ 22inch barrel, bedded and free floated barrel.

I had a Husqvarna in 7X64 many years ago. It was stocked with a gorgeous piece of Italian walnut that had deep red highlights.
Used 30-06 brass that was first resized with a small base sizing die, and then resized with the '64 die to fit chamber with the bolt barely closing on the case. Worked like a charm. The rifle was basically a 280 Remington as far as hunting performance goes, and that is not a bad thing.
An acquaintance of mine really wanted it, and after many tries I sold it to him. Next thing I knew, within weeks, he had had it rechambered to 7mm Rem Magnum by the local gun plumber.

Well that's puzzling Ted,....280 Ackley would have made more sense....
No kidding, but "The 280 Ackley dies were going to cost more than the rechambering job."
Of course, he forgot that the bolt face needed to be opened up, the rails ground, and the feed ramp altered a bit and polished to make it function properly. Crazy, especially when he could have just bought a Husqvarna HUSKY in 7mm Mag for less money than the gunsmithing ended up costing by the time the rifle was feeding and extracting like it should.

I have my grandfather's Mauser Model 2000 in 7x64. I'm pretty much keeping it due to sentimental value. I bought a set of dies as it was next to impossible to find ammo in Canada. My local cdn Tire seems to now have a few boxes of 140gr and 170gr perpetually in stock. I have two full boxes on hand and 68 casings awaiting reload. (Once I get into reloading)
I have not had much luck zeroing it in as the Geco scope It came with wouldn't hold zero. I have since purchased a Zeiss 3-9x50. Need to hit the range and see what it's capable of now.

That surely made little sense... and a waste of a nice rifle in an original chambering... 7 RM's are a dime a dozen and he could have gotten one anywhere.
The 7X64 I just bought is a US import, so it will be awhile before I see it... dies and brass are waiting on the bench, but I am looking for a couple hundred more pieces of brass...
I jammed out and went with the practical side of me, still second guessing my choice.... But left the door open for another rifle purchase when she calms down about this one in a month or so

i do not know you but please never sell that rifle.
I will hand it down to a deserving nephew when the time comes. He (grandfather) bought it second hand around 1975. He used it a few times, lent it to his brother for a few hunts. It hadn't been fired since 1991 until Dad brought it back from Germany around 2005. It had fired 6 rounds from then until I received it in 2014. It might now have only 100 rounds through it. I love the weight, feel and overall look.
