700 MLR 338 lapua

hey guys, just starting out loading for a MLR.

Just bought the think, does anyone have a good powder/Bullet combo to feed this thing that works in your MLR with the twist. ?

Any info and starting point would be appreciated.

I am thinking by looking at the data!

Retumbo - 250 gr smks

RL 25

H 1000 ?

any info that works for you rem shooters would help, if you dont care to post please pm me

250's and Retumbo is where I would start

250 SMK and h1000 is what I usually use. The berger300s work really well but I can just about buy double SMKs for what the bergers cost.....

For some reason the charge weight escapes me right now.......

you might also like to try US869
it works good in mine with 250 accubound and fed gm215 primers

I use 300gr Sierra's and Retumbo. I also like H1000.

Thanks guy I loaded up some 300 grain lapua bullets and some 285 grain hornadys

I worked my way up near book Max loads with retumbo and found that my 700 likes heavier bullets with stiff retumbo loads.

I also tried us 869 was odd results. Both groups shot 3 though the same hole with 2 fliers ?

But retumbo was the clear winner. The 300s tighter than the 285s but I would not discredit these cheaper Hornady bullets. They shot well for the price.

250 SMK and H-1000 for my 700 meter shots. Works dandy in my gun.

338 lapua loads

I have been mostly using V170 powder, 93.9 and 93.5 grns pushing a 250 grain scenar with sub MOA results. Just makes me smile. Carries well over distance based on early results.
The lapua site has load data as well as a ballistic calculator which I have found very helpful

I actually found a winning load. Crept up the ladder just above max with 95 gr of retumbo cci mag primers, and 285 gr HDY bullets.

Drives the same ragged hole. Very happy with the gun and load.
