I am looking for one for the above mentioned rifle. The rifle is thumbhole laminated stock with stainless barrel. I think something silver, been looking at the Vari X II and III. What is the advantage of the III, it doesn't seem like there is much. Also anyone have any luck with the Titanium Nikon series?

I have the swarovski av 3x10x42 on my own 300ultramags.If they are out of your budget,a 3x9x40 zeiss conquest is a great choice .The conquest offers a constant eye relief(unlike leupold) and optics that are superior to the vxIII for the same price as a vxIII.

I have an LSS in 300 RUM, tried a few different scopes, but ended up with an elite 4200 2.5-10X40 (in silver

Magnification range is pretty much pperfect, and while the 4200 in no S&B, it has stood up perfectly (and I shoot...ALOT!) Second one down.
