Hi,
I figured someone should know. Has anyone ever converted a Rem 700 SPS over to a DM clip model in 204? Did Remington ever biuild a clip model 223 or 222Mag? Would make things alot easier but;) If not it is off to the drawing board.

Any info or ideas would sure be great.

I have not seen a 700 DM in .223 or factory magazines for the .223. I haven't even seen an aftermarket magazine system for the 700 in a boltface smaller then a .308 SA. What I do know is that you can't take a BDL hingeplate action and simply "drop in" a BDL DM magazine system. (Part of the reason that many think the DM system is crap/broken) the BDL action and DM actions are slightly different - the hinge action has magazine/feed rails which are different from the DM action. If you try to use a DM floorplate, it will double feed and not function probably. Hope this helps.

If you want a .204 Ruger from Remington I think you can use a 788 and have a .204 barrel put on it.

It is fairly expensive and available from Brownell's - made by H.S. Precision, an assembly to replace the BDL metal in .223... it isn't listed in .223 but is available as a special order. Made of stainless steel and a blacked baked finish. Landed in Canada it would cost about $300 I think.

Guntech: That picture from the HS Precision people... I'm assuming it's a .308 version and not the .223 model, correct? I'm drooling for a .223 conversion.... earth pig gitter of mine, an M700 SPS DM version....
