Just ordered one of these today and a 20 moa base. Curious if anyone on here has one and what your thoughts experiences are. I already made up some 105 amax rounds over h1000 to try. I am hoping the 9 1/8 twist will stabalize the heavier bullets. Might pick up some 95 grain matchkings and some 4350 as well.

Future plans include a trigger tech trigger(have one on my 5r and love it), as well as an upgraded stock with detachable magazine.

Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks

I picked up this same rifle a few months ago. It has no problem stabilizing Hornady 105 BTHP target bullets. I too use H1000 with it. Will shoot sub MOA all day with no problem. I changed the trigger to a Timney since the Trigger Tech is not available in a left hand version. The first thing I did with the rifle was to toss the plastic abomination of a stock and install a Boyd's laminate. That made for a significantly heavier rifle, but it sure shoots nice off the bench. I glass bedded the action with Marine Tex to about 1- inch forward of the recoil lug. Installed a 20 MOA rail and a new Sightron 6-24 and I am good to 1000 yards. So far only shot to 300 yards but it did shoot several 5 shot groups of 0.5-0.75 MOA. I am very pleased with the rifle.

The Amax is a long bullet. I think that twist is marginal for those. I am interested to hear how they work out summer and winter.

Says you need at least a 9 twist for the 6mm amax. One way to find out if they will work though. Stabilized in my 6x45 with 8 twist however they don't seem to shoot as good as 105gr bergers.

Thanks for the feedback. From what ive researched its a crap shoot if the barrel will stabalize the bigger bullets. I am fine with testing different combos.

I am well aware the stock is garbage so that will be replaced right away. I am excited to see the accuracy potnetial of this cartridge.

I have one in 308. Way too front heavy with the plastic stock.

I put mine in an AICS stock... Now it's heavy front to rear.
Defiantly not a "carrying" gun, but great for ventelating prairie dogs off a bench.

Rifle showed up and my 20 moa base. Threw on a 4-12x50 on it to try. Going to shoot some 105 amax over h1000 and some 95 smk over imr4350.

Not sure if anyone cares but i will post accuracy results and chrony results in its stock form.

I will update results with trigger tech upgrade and whatever stock i end up with

Well i got the rifle last week and quickly put a rail and scope on it. Manged to get to the range and test out some handloads.

Couple notes from the day:

Accuracy was what i expected for the rifle in its current form. The barrel is obviously not free floated in the terrible stock and the trigger is terrible.

I shot my 95 smk at 200 yards but wish i had just started at 100 with the setup i slapped together.

I had no problem stabalizing the 95s and 105s so that was a positive. My groups at 100 were promising with the 105s but nothing to get overly excited about.

I have ordered a trigger tech trigger and am currently deciding on a stock. When these items arrive i will most likely repeat the test and post results.

I can say i really enjoy this caliber and plan on really worki g on my handloads as well as accurizing this rifle
