I've been wanting to change the Jewell 1.5-3oz I have on my barnard S action (FTR) to something 2 stage with a heavier pull, 1-1.5lb range or so, adjustable, No safety.
So far the X-treme Mod 22 (updated CG pretty much) seems to be about the only decent option ? anything else out there that's available in Canada and worth putting on a match rifle?

I guess other option is to stick to plain single stage, maybe a Jewell HVR-A or if they're any good maybe a rifle basix LV-1 or ERV-3?

thanks

I saw those online, seems decent, a bit pricey for a trigger but can't find a Canadian dealer. Are they a real 2 stage though?
Its amazing how most of these trigger manufacturers either don't have websites(aka Jewell..) and in most cases very little in the way of proper information.
If it didn't have a safety I'd probably try to get the T7T.

For 50 or 60 dollars many gunsmiths can rework any factory 700 trigger to be crisp at 1.5 to 2 pounds... that's a fraction of the cost of replacement.

I agree with this, some tuned Remington triggers feel really nice, such as my GAP one. However, this doesn't meet the OP's 2-stage requirement.

Not too worried about cost, mostly just want something that will work really well.
Unfortunately a lot of the triggers made for the rem 700's have a darn safety, but maybe some can just be removed. I want to avoid having to inlet any opening for a safety on this stock.
I'll be taking a look at the Calvin elite 2 stage since Hirsch Precision has some in stock.

The safety lever can be removed if you don't want it on 700 triggers... I have done that to a few...

If one is used to a light crisp single stage trigger I don't understand why you would want a two stage...

I had borrowed a rifle in 2015 that had a really nice 2 stage on it, been wanting one since. Turns out I prefer having a bit more pull weight.
