700 XCR TLR trigger ID...

Hi guys, I just received my 'new to me' Rem 700 XCR TLR and was wondering if someone could ID the trigger on it. The previous owner wasn't sure which one it was, and despite my reading up on the factory offerings, I didn't see one described as having a 'smooth' finish on the trigger itself. Could this be an aftermarket trigger?

Here is a poor picture...sorry for the lack of focus, I can try again with a better camera if need be.

I was pretty sure it wasn't an aftermarket unit, since dry firing it ( snap cap ) didn't impress. A little heavy, ( adjustable obviously ), but not what I would call a 'clean' break.

'ATRS'....I'm guessing that is Alberta Tactical Rifle Something'...?? Shop? Disregard, just found it. Timney from them is listed at $200.00, Jewell at $350.00.

What does the $150.00 difference get you?

Talk to Sean at north shore barrels , he is at your end of the country and can prob hook you up with a Timney .. As I recall I got mine for about 150 shipped from him


As for the Timney /Jewell conparison ... Timney is sort of a rugged clean breaking all condition trigger .. Jewell's are very tightly machined , adjust down into the ounce range . But IMO are better suited for the bench then laying in the dirt
 
So very sad. My xcr tlr came with a 40x trigger and I absolutely love it! I guess they downgraded it to the xmark pro. The 40x is so good it is the only 700 trigger I kept and didn't replace with a Jewell. (Actually I did put a Jewell on my xcrtlr. But I moved the 40x to my hunting 700 .270. It is wonderful.

Jewell's come in bench rest flavours that adjust to oz, and hunter version that are 1.5 to 5 lbs. I keep mine at 2.5 lbs.

Thanks for the info...guess I'll have to wait for Sean and his site to come back online to check his product line...not sure how long that might be, no indication on the North Shore Barrel web page.
