700x for 20 Gauge?

Hey Everyone,

I've been reloading 12ga for awhile now and want to start reloading 20ga but I can't seem to find any data for 20ga with 700x powder. Is it even possible? I don't want to be using a powder that isn't safe or designed for 20ga however I don't use enough 20ga for it to be worth buying a different powder. If it isn't I'll just continue using the store bought stuff.

Look on IMR loading manual webpage
There are some loads for it.

Lyman shot shell book, 20ga, 2 3/4", Federal Primer (I think), 7/8 oz load. 12.5gn to 13.5gn HyScore 700x.

700X is way too fast for 20 ga. Many many years ago there was a few light 7/8 oz loads published but you would be hard pressed to find any today

Ran it for a while, worked just fine with AA or STS hulls. Just lighten the powder charge a bit.

It might work, but not the best, I use 800X currently in mine, just 800X is a bit dirtier, 700x works really well in the 12ga
