Anyone use 700x for 38 or 357?,I have about 2 1/2 lbs to use up,
I'll only be plinking with it in my Blackhawk and model '94 Compact
Thanks for your input
Huntsman Yes I have used it samething as you are had 8# so thought I would try some seems to work damn nice. Shooting most of it out of my marlin but have shot some out of the wheel gun also.
Ken
I used to load a pile of it for skeet and trap use, but with target loads so cheap any more, it sits about. I keep thinking about trying it in one of my handguns. Let us know how it works for you!
It is really good in the 38 spec. I use this all the time, you can load 357 mag as well with it but I prefer h110. I also use 700x in 9mm. It meters very well in my Lee equipment unlike 800x. Try it you'll like it!
IMR700X in 357mag is a reduced load it is too fast to get top velocity from that chambering that being said it is very clean burning especialy compared to many of the mag pistol powders. in my 357mag mod94 win 16"brl I load 5grns of 700X behind a 158gr cast bullet velocity is 1050fps. Hope this helps.
Thanks all,well I will definately try it out.Eventually though I will look into;
"Blue Dot,H110 & H4227" for some hunting loads.
Thanks again and any further comments or opinions are welcome(of course),
Cheers,
