700x in the 45/70

You can successfully use any fast burning shotgun or pistol powder in a 45-70 for plinking (light loads.)
The 45-70 seems to be a very good calibre for doing this, as an accurate wee load can usually be found.
However, 700 class powder should not be used with jacketed bullets, or to try and get any bullet going as fast as a light hunting load speed. The pressure could very easily get into the high/dangerous area, with very little pre warning.
For your light plinking loads, use the usual caution about not getting a double charge.

700x is very fast soo itwill have a tendency to spike hard if you go too far. If you can find reliable data it should be fine otherwise go with unique.
