today i went for a quick drive to hunt but i got there an it was foggy so i went into town an started doing maintenance on my truck,, before i got too committed a mate rang an said he has shot some dogs but some got away and hes out of ammo... lol.

it was just up the road from my house , so i gathered an high tailed it , met up with him an off we went.

Six dowgs later...... but no sign of mum!

good haul anyway for a Sat morning, with the bounty we make 360 each ah ha ha :) *in photo shows 5 of 6

the mate shoots a Xbolt 30-06 w 150gr corelokts, i was totin my 30-06 an 180gr hornadys, so i think we were adequatley gunned.

ha ha, A Domesticated Dog Crossed with a Pure Bred Dingo at some stage, same area as the White one I shot last month. an the Grey patchy one is on Camera feeding on a roo carcas... they are "wild dogs" an nothing more.

Lol i didnt wanna assume.

i shot a dingo back in 2021 an it was dna tested an came back as 99.999% a pure dingo.

the irony is though, alot of "dogs" came back pure....... we believe there is dirty work going on with the GReens and the Universitys, a massive push in regard to the "dingo" actually living on and the future of Govt trappin may be in jeopardy.....

i get quite alot of heat from the "dingo" groups of Aus..... but i like em just as much as they do, just not on private land lol

Haters are gonna hate.
If the haters are so concerned about wild dogs they why is there not a huge push to have domestic pets spayed or neutered ?
Beer, petrol/diesel and ammo money ....dont see a downside .
Good Hunting Sir !

30-06 on those seems a bit much on those little guys, no? Or are the furs not worth harvesting?

nah the drama is to try hunt these dogs themselves, its a fairly elusive game, hit an miss, tough gig, they are not super responsive an seem to wisen up a bit, but are 90% shot on oppertunity whilst Deer hunting.
typically found in the Sambar deer country, so a min cal of .270 is required by Law to be in that country :)

the last grey wolf lookin one im holdin up copped a 250gr .366 at 30 meters.... bit of over kill ya could say :)

Ah makes sense, thanks.

There's no caliber requirements for coyotes where I am, as far as I know. Might pick up either a 243 or 308 for dual-duty coyote and deer. I'd roll 6.5x55 if a variety of cartridges were more readily available for it.
