Hi Guys,

I am trying to mount my leupy 2.5-8x Vx111 to my new 75 Finnlight in .260 as low as possible. I just tried the super-low rings and the power ring on the scope contacts the back of the base. Has anyone mounted the 2.5-8x using opti-lock rings and bases and what height did you use ? I do not know if I need to go to low or medium opti-locks to get the clearance.

I have a 3.5-10 x40 going on my winchester and tried it as well its becuase they are longer tubed than the 2.5 -8x which is shorter by at least 2 ", I hope someone has an answere as I want to get out and start shooting this rifle.

Do you have the short action bases? If so you will have to get the long action mounts. I had the exact same problems. I have a Sako in a short action 270 WSM and decided to mount a VX111 2-8x36mm. To mount the scope with the extra low rings I had to get the long action mounts. If you decide to use the short action bases (which I think you probably have) you will have to go with the higher mounts. I almost went this route but I wanted the 2-8x36 for have a compact gun.

The problem has been solved. I had the front base mounted to far forward in the dovetail as this is the way I have them on my old 595 Tikkas. I mouted it as far as it would go forward as the Tikka have the recoild stop up front and the Sako's are on the rear. I went over the manual and the front base did nt have to go are far foward in the dovetail as possible, it was to be flush with ejection port. Worked out great, feels and balances just right.
