I thought at some point earlier this year a dealer had posted SKS' for $75 with the purchase of bulk ammo. Am I remembering correctly?

Who made that deal, and are they still?

It originally came with a case of Polish 7.62x39mm surplus.

It looks like they've switched to Chinese surplus now.

I haven't shot the Polish ammo yet, but I was quite happy with the SKS they sent me.

Any milsurps I got from there are cosmo-free.

Make sure you get a shipping quote up front.

Shipping and handling fees can be shockingly high with that particular vendor.

I remember ordering a spare Mosin firing pin from them, and the shipping (which I was told would be less then 10 bucks on the phone) was actually DOUBLE the cost of the firing pin. They charged me and shipped it even after changing the S&H price. Once I got it and looked at my visa statement, I called em up and LOST IT! They were sorry, and offered to take it back (if I paid the return shipping...) Instead I demanded they refund me some of the shipping and have never dealt with them again.
 
yep shipping sucks. people look at $75 and fork out the $$ without realizing that after shipping its not such a great deal anymore

I never did notice but yeah the guns I got from them were 90% cosmoline free and their free shiping and service is awesome. When I got my vz24 from them I asked for the one with the nicest barrel and I got one with an almost shinny barrel wich is very good for a vz 24 from what i hear( I did spent a lot of money though)

Great now I want to buy an sks :( ;)
 
All guns are like that though I got my pal in sept and I've spent like 2000$ about so I better slow down, not because of a lack of money but a lack of excuses. Believe me having the money and no excuses is worse then not having the money. Money is easier to get then permission. Forgiveness is easier to get then permission but not the 2nd times in a month.
