dumb question, when you load a remmy pump rifle does it make a lot of noise? like 7400

It is just as loud as cycling a shotgun. So depending on your use, it may be required to rely on the safety of one wants to be stealthy when hunting

never had a pump shotgun, is it louder than loading a bolt rifle? rely on the safety??

Yes they are loud, for sure louder then a bolt action

It is not near as loud at a 7400, on the pump rifle you just ease the slide handle forward and there is one “click” as the bolt head rotates into place. Then check to make sure it is fully locked up. Not as quiet as a bolt, but not too bad first thing in the morning on the deer stand. WK

that's the info i was looking for, buddy had a 7400 and when he let the bolt go he could hear the deer blow at him, thanks WK

I hunt with a 7600 and carry it the same way I carry my pump shotgun; with a shell on the bolt and the action cracked so you can see 1/4 to 1/2 inch of shell. I'm practiced enough that I can close the action as I shoulder the rifle. Yes this means I don't have the rifle or shotgun slung, I have it in my hands.

That metallic sound is certainly a warning sound to a deer. Cycle it well before your stand and use the safety. Also practice taking the safety off quietly. A deer is used to the sounds in the bush and that metallic sound is just not normal to them.

I always loaded my 7600 pump, slung with safety on. No issues with noise spooking game that way.

The 760 and 7600 can be louder still if the o-ring in the pump mechanism is gone. The 7600 rifle does not like to be babied when pumping as the bolthead needs to rotate 100% for the rifle to fire.
