I'm trying to improve my rifle skills, I need all the help I can get. I find the triggers on my 7600s do not feel that much different to my shotguns to be honest. Is there an aftermarket trigger for these beautiful rifles or any mod a competant gun smith can perform.

I'm sure this has been asked before but the search tool has me beat today.

thanks,
warren.

I am not aware of aftermarket triggers for the 7600. They also can not be much improved by a gunsmith I understand - though perhaps some modest improvement can be made.

My 7600 and 7400 have a poor trigger pull too.

My 7600 pulls at 4lbs, and I have no problem shooting moa or better with it...But as I understand, there's not much to be done with them, maybe a little polishing...

short of polishing the sear engagement or playing with springs there is no aftermarket trigger for you gun. Should have purchased a decent bolt action rig if you want to work on the finer shooting.

I guess this subjective, but I believe that the 7600 trigger can be made to come very close to a factory sporter bolt trigger. I modified my own after reading an article on a 338-06 custom 7600. If you want it I could type it out and send it to you, might be a few days. Basically I took the trigger group out, clipped about 1.5 coils off the main spring this took my weight of pull down to around 3lbs, then I drilled and tapped the back of the trigger guard and installed a set screw and adjusted it to take up the overtravel. The trigger can be further improved by stoning the engagement surfaces, but I didn't feel comfortable doing this. With what I did thou the trigger is much better.

Everyone thanks.

Homesteader, I'm not sure I would be comfortable doing it myself. Maybe I'l call around a few smiths to see if they can do anything similar.

Just found this with lots of threads on 7600 trigger improvements. Evidently a few south of de border are doing a pretty good job of bettering them it would seem - for a price.

Whelen,
cheers, there is some interesting stuff in that link. I'm surprised they say that 7600'sre easy to rebarrel. I thought I had read there were a number of problems associated with rebarreling 7600s.
