I’ve got a set of Lee dies and the bullet seating die won’t seat the bullet to spec. I’m 10 thou over with the adjuster screwed all the way in. That being said, they shoot great in my rifle, but it seems like the die might have the wrong bullet pusher part in it? Anyone else seen this? Maybe a quality control issue? I might buy another brand of die to try it out. Any suggestions?
 
Get a longer seater stem, happened with my .223.

You won't find a stem that will do "all" bullets, you will find they generally do "most"

Is the die making contact with the shell holder?
 
With Lee dies assuming everything is bottomed out, the seating stem is floating, all you need is a shim of some kind on top of the floating seater. As long as it is big enough to stay centered and not float around or bind. If you have a shell with a case head that fits you can trim it down to work. Another option is to build up the top of stem with a few layers of tape or something if you only need a tenth or so. Keep in mind tape will have some give. Also if your load shoots well and isn’t contacting the lands I wouldn’t worry about a bit of length.
 
Lee are probably my favourite dies for getting the most for your money.
I cannot say that my Redding Custom Competition dies that cost nearly 6x the price of the Lee are even 20% better in the accuracy department.

I buy Hornady dies for my progressive press because they are longer and have more threads.
My 7.62x39 dies are RCBS but that’s because they were the only ones in stock that day.

This was using Lee 6.5CM dies during load development.
That was also using the Lee 50th Anniversary press because I didn’t have the Forster Co-Ax back then.

I might try to shim it or contact Lee. It does shoot well at this length but I can always back it off to get back to length. My shell holder contacts the bottom of the die so I’m pretty sure I have the die set properly. Thanks for the ideas. I’ll give them a try
 
This happens sometimes. IIRC 55gr VMAX in .223 w/Lee DL seater end up bang on with the adjuster bottomed. If it really bothers your ocd you could file 10 thou off the bottom of the adjuster. I'd leave it as is however, 10 thou long is nothing for a round like X39 if it is headed for a milsurp rifle.
 
I am just out side mission bc. Have a bucket of steel case 7.62 39. Was told it got wet the guy tumbled them around in some oil. I am never going to do anything with them. If someone out this way has a use for them send me a message. I am guessing 2-300 rounds.
