788 in 22-250 question

I am rechambering a 308 to 7.62x39.

I am thinking that a 22-250 magazine might be a better shape to hold and feed the 7.62x39 round than the 308Win.

Could someone with a 22-250 788 please try the 7.62x39 round in it and see if it works?

I see your problem; I have a 7-08 788 here at the moment, and it just barely holds the 7.62X39 cartridge back near the case head. The bad news is that it holds a .22-250 pretty well, so the .22-250 magazine might be too wide if it follows the same contour, but maybe someone with a .22-250 will post.

I am hoping that the more tapered shape of a 22-250 will better match the 7.62x39.

I wonder if the 30-30 mag would hold the commie round?

Edit: A CGNr advsies me the 22-250 mag seems to hold and feed the 7.62x39 just fine.
