What brass does everyone use for 7mm-08 for a hunting rifle? Are you using actual 7mm08 brass or necking down 308 and what brand are you using? Would buying a couple of boxes of hornady ammo and saving the brass work as well?

Thanks

I bought about 400 W-W a while back when WSS had lots, use them for my 260 as well. 308 works like a dream, once through the die and BINGO........ 7-08. Lots for sale cheap on the EE right now. If I needed more I'd be buying up the LC mil brass by the 100s........excellent brass.

I have been necking down Remington brass.. have gotten 7-8 rounds so far on this batch.. primer pockets are still tight... no complaints here... just broke down and bought some nosler brass... that hurt the ol wallet.. testing loads this weekend with it.. but so far im really happy with remington brass

Stubblejumper: Did you have to turn the necks any? I will be buying Lapua 308 brass anyways for my F/TR rifle.

I will add that people are afraid of the price.

.308 Lapua is very inexpensive brass, some retailers will have Remington and Winchester at almost parallel price points, add the higher quality and longer life of Lapua, the cost actually goes down.

That being said I use Remington for my hunting loads and Lapua for my target/plinking loads. No issues so far with either.

When I had a 7mm-08, I used necked down Lapua 308win brass. It is way better brass than Hornady, Winchester or Remington.
