7mm-08 info needed

I've been shooting the 120 tsx over a stiff charge of R15. The 140 tsx works very well too. I used to shoot 139 hornady sp's, but I wasn't always getting an exit on even medium deer, so went with the barnes. So far so good.

7mm-08

Using 139 gr Hornady Interbond over 1/2 grain off max load of Varget...very accurate in our guns...T/C pro hunter and Remington 700...good fps as well...

Good luck.

Havent even shot my new 7mm-08 yet but Ive build up a variety of loads using 140gr. Accubonds and Varget.

Have to wait and see how they shoot.

140 Accubond at around 2750 fps for all-around load works real well (all I seem to be able to get out of my 22" Stevens), and a 154 SST for bigger stuff. Ballistics are deceiving on the 7-08 and the caliber is the perfect example of why blazing speed isn't always the answer. Real high BC and/or SD are why it's so effective. Tried the 120 TSX in as many loads and seating depths as I could, but mine just doesn't like them. Great caliber and seems to be really catching on...

I use the Nosler 140gr ballistic tips for deer and Partitions or Accubonds on the bigger stuff. I have also had good experience with the Hornady 139 gr btsp's. I used to use the 145gr Speer grand Slam but found the Nosler bullets seem to group better in my rifle.

Just so everyone knows, Ive been shooting 140gn Barnes and accubonds through my 7-08 for almost 6 months and have been very happy with accuracy and killing power.

I just bought my son the same rifle and was hoping to get away with shooting a cheaper bullet but have had poor performance from hornady btsp 180gr from my 30-06. Tended to fragment to much.

I am trying out a box of 139gn sst's. Didn't want to say anything earlier. Just wanted some honest opinions......

Again - see a trend here? Anybody who either uses or knows somebody with a 7mm-08 has nothing but great things to say about it, me included. What's there not to really like about it?

I am shooting 162 gr. Hornady SST over 38.7 grains of IMR 4064 using a Stevens 200 (22" barrel). It will shoot groups of UNDER .500" all day long and dump whitetail like flies!!

140 Gr. Ballistic tip loaded to normal velocity. 120 Gr.Ballistic tip loaded to about 2500 for my 14 yo to shoot. Have taken deer with both, never found either bullet.
