I have a 700 BDL since 1985 and an XP100 since about the same time in 7-08. I have shot all sorts of game with both. I can do a 3 shot nearly one hole groups with the 140 partition or the Hornady BTSP. The NPs have generaly disintegrated and I could find just the bottom piece of lead on animals the size of Caribou or large Whitetails. The Accubond and BTSP stay together much better. I use the NP in my 375HH with excellent results and the bullet mushrooming nicely. I have just shot a 225Kg Gnu in South Africa with a 30-06 and the Hornady bullet. It detroyed the lungs and heart, finaly stopping under the left top of the shoulder. The bullet held together very well except it lost most of it's weight when it hit the shoulder bone. It mushroomed very well.
I prefer the Hornady over the partition on deer sized game. The BC is much better so for any very long shots, I don't worry about additional drop. I also know that the bullet won't fragment like the NP when hitting a rib.
I will post a picture of the Gnu and bullet later in the hunting section.
Regards,
Henry
